WOMINJEKA!

Welcome to Thornbury Primary School

At Thornbury Primary School we provide a rich, diverse and sustainable learning environment, which recognises that all learners are individuals.

Mainstream

In Mainstream at Thornbury Primary School, we work towards a common goal of a differentiated learning approach as we recognise that all learners are individuals.

While Literacy and Numeracy are core aspects in the Victorian Curriculum, we also believe that learners should express creativity, through various means towards life long learning experiences.

Steiner

The Steiner program at Thornbury Primary School offers a dynamic and creative curriculum based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. The program is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and is available from Foundation to Grade 6.

Indigenous Studies

The Indigenous Studies program is unique to our school and gives Thornbury Primary students the opportunity to study one of the oldest living cultures in the world.

Arts Festival

The Arts Festival is a whole school community event that recognises the creative and diverse arts created by the students of Thornbury Primary School.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC is always very special at Thornbury Primary School and in particular NAIDOC Day. Many voluntary hours are given by staff to acknowledge our Indigenous students, their communities, history and culture with a variety of multi-age activities planned for all children on this day.

Harvest Festival

Thornbury Primary School community organises a Harvest Festival – this is a beautiful opportunity to join together in a celebration of community, through stories and songs.
